On self-worth
Self-esteem. Self-worth. Self-respect. What do they all have in common?
I can choose to find other-esteem or other-respect all I like, but if I'm not careful, I'll mistake the values of others as my own values.
If I choose to place my own worth in other people's hands, I'll be at the mercy of what they think. And there's an awful lot of people out there who think something about me, all thinking I should do something differently.
That doesn't mean I was able to look in a mirror when I was unsatisfied, uncreative and unmotivated, and think I'm great just the way I am.
Self-worth began when I did the work I wanted to do, and learned to stop lying to myself.
If you're still looking anywhere and everywhere for that hit of validation, it's time to refocus.
You will not find self-worth in any other place than your self.
