The Sun and the Sky

The Sun and the Sky

The Sun and the Sky

Too much of our time has been spent

In tense brooding envy at the strengths of others;

Then, in the quiet moments,

Fearing that what they possess, we lack.

The ocean has not spent all her centuries

Thinking how light and free the sky is;

And the sky has no need to envy the beauty of the sea

Despite her ebbs and flows; and because of them.

One breathes in, another breathes out.

Each draw strength and resources and clarity

From choosing themselves; and in time, from accepting:

The others are not to be feared, but loved.
